“An intense strategy board game in a steampunk world of corrupt capitalist gremlins who compete for money, political power and prestige. Steal resources, extort bribes, manipulate elections, arrest other players and send them telegrams of misfortune…”
The developers also did a nice post mortem on the time the game spent in Early Access, as well as a breakdown of localizing the game into 12 different languages, and how each paid off (or didn’t). If you’re into game development, definitely a good read.

I put together a collection of itch.io pages that I thought were pretty well designed. Hopefully if you’re a gamedev you can get some ideas of what to do for your own page. Some of them look fancy, but really the colour scheme, font, and background choice go a really long way to encouraging people to stick on your page long enough to read the description, or watch a video.
If you’re not a game developer you can still take a look, some of the pages lead to some cool games. :)
Good use of colours and a neat page border.
[gfycat data_id="MemorableCarelessAndalusianhorse"]Looks exactly like the game. The control mapping icons are really well done. Could do with video/gifs of gameplay.
[gfycat data_id="FaithfulMeekCutworm"]The game is playable in the browser. The colours and background of the page make it feel like the page is an extension of the game.
[gfycat data_id="FoolishRecklessHylaeosaurus"]Unique and fitting art for the description, border, and arrangement of screenshots/gifs. Description gets to the point.
[gfycat data_id="DependentPowerlessAustralianshelduck"]Impactful colours and banner, though it’s a bit too large. I don’t usually like artsy descriptions but this one for some reason felt right. Nice header fonts.
[gfycat data_id="UnsightlySlimBumblebee"]Great banner, really weird combination of font colours which fits the game well and is memorable, but also readable.
[gfycat data_id="MilkyHeartfeltAlleycat"]Simple aesthetic with a bunch of blended gifs throughout.
[gfycat data_id="OfficialAptImpala"]An impactful banner (though too large I think), nice colours.
[gfycat data_id="AlarmingInexperiencedAmericanlobster"]Great aesthetic that fits the game, but not a very helpful description. It could also use some gameplay gifs/video.
[gfycat data_id="DiligentAmbitiousAmericanratsnake"]A very simple page with a blended gif that shows off the gameplay well.
[gfycat data_id="RipeDiligentCleanerwrasse"]Good title font, background, overall colours, and readability. Description is a bit weird, but fits the game.
[gfycat data_id="FlawlessDelectableCaimanlizard"]Nifty gif for the title that blends into the rest of the page. All the info as soon as you enter (though admittedly info is sparse).
[gfycat data_id="DigitalUnnaturalGrub"]Page really fits the theme of the game with nice colourful page breaks.
[gfycat data_id="CoolSelfishAmericanavocet"]Overall a well designed page that feels very much like the game itself; nice fonts, blended gifs, mysterious text etc.
[gfycat data_id="EvilCarefreeHorse"]Just a very functional page. Straight to the point description, video above the fold. Though the banner could be a bit smaller.
[gfycat data_id="RegalThickAmericanalligator"]Really I just like the tiled background with the borders. I find it can go a long way to making the page look fitting to the game as well as pleasing to the eye.
[gfycat data_id="ExcitableImpassionedBluebottlejellyfish"]Just a really simple minimalist design.
[gfycat data_id="FakePlushHound"]Animated side borders that meld into the game window in the center of the page. (jitters caused by recording on a potato laptop)
