Magic Flute: Puzzle Adventure

developed by LabLike

[gfycat data_id="ImperfectGlisteningHylaeosaurus"][gfycat data_id="DeepDistinctKinkajou"][gfycat data_id="HappygoluckyBelovedEastrussiancoursinghounds"]

“A beautiful game retelling a classic tale of a magical voyage through a land of wonders over the course of 30+ levels of challenging brain-twisters and fully-voiced cutscenes. The game was inspired by a staging of Mozart’s Magic Flute opera by the renowned Japanese stage director, Amon Miyamoto, who envisioned the 18th century play as a videogame experience.”

Dr. Langeskov, The Tiger, and The Terribly Cursed Emerald: A Whirlwind Heist

developed by Crows Crows Crows

[gfycat data_id="FakeUnimportantBighorn"][gfycat data_id="CalculatingAccomplishedBluebottlejellyfish"][gfycat data_id="RawSelfassuredBighorn"]

A first person heist game created by the designer of The Stanley Parable.  Really great voice acting which creates the humorous atmosphere and sets the stage for your escapade.  It’s only about twenty minutes long (depending on how much time you spend exploring) and you can download it from Steam or itch.io (pay what you want).

I hate writing and so I don’t do reviews but this was pretty great, definitely recommended.  I don’t want to spoil anything, but the tiger is very important.  It’s in the title.

“A puzzle game based on a triangular grid. The characters, called Trimoebas, are triangular unicellular animals undertaking the building of the first multicellular beings, traveling through the evolution. The Trimoebas bear functional properties on their sides, such glue to build, explosive to dig and hooks to climb, but these properties work only if the Trimoebas are correctly rotated: you will have to move on the right path and make the Trimoebas overstep each other to complete the mission.”

I really like hand-drawn art and googly eyes, so this looks interesting although I haven’t had a chance to play it yet (boo work).  It’s just released on Steam and you can check it out from the link below.

“A post-apocalyptic roguelike-like top-down shooter. Not ‘the final hope of humanity’ post-apocalyptic, but ‘humanity is extinct and mutants and monsters now roam the world’ post-apocalyptic. Fight your way through the wastelands with powerful weaponry, collecting radiation to mutate some new limbs and abilities. All these things and more you could do if only you were good at this game. Can you reach the Nuclear Throne?”

This just came out of Early Access and is now available on Steam (as well as PS4 and Vita) with pretty great reviews so far.

“A visually-striking, yet challenging platformer about manipulating the environment around you. To complete a stage, you must light up all the blocks in a level. The only problem is that not every block is active at the same time. You must toggle between Red, Yellow, and Blue blocks to navigate each course without getting shot by turrets, impaled on spikes, or falling to your death. It starts out easy, but the challenge will come quickly.”

A demo is available which includes the first 10 levels of the game.

“A story-driven third person survival horror combining an inspiration in the old school classics with modern design and visuals, evocative of mankind’s eternal fear of what cannot be understood. Take control of up to 16 characters who have been plunged, throughout time, into a nightmare for which they are not prepared.”

“Each character has his/her own defined background, personality, views and opinions. They will each react differently to what they see and experience. Which of them are still kicking and which are gone will affect how the story is told.”

There’s a demo available on the Kickstarter page.
