Abyssal Zone

developed by Led  |  Platforms: Windows, Mac

“A puzzle game where you play as a squidlike creature who can only move forward or turn, while being watched by two entities. The game features a collection of puzzles built around this, which reward you with pearls should you complete them under the specified number of moves.

“Partner up with a friend to solve the co-op exclusive puzzles, where communication and cooperation are key. Both players’ moves count towards the pearl counter, so extra caution is required!”

Abyssal Zone was originally made for Ludum Dare 34 , you can play that version here.

No Place for Bravery

developed by Glitch Factory  |  Platforms: Windows, Mac

no place for bravery 2no place for bravery 1

“An atmospheric minimalist roguelike where you play as a group of adventurers wandering through an eerie, devastated high fantasy world on a quest to slay the godlike entities that brought down humankind.

“It is basically an action RPG with super neat, Hyper Light Drifter inspired pixel art, minimalist controls, procedurally generated maps and a time manipulation mechanic similar to Super Time Force’s that lets the player control more than one character simultaneously by playing with one character and then rewinding time and playing with another character alongside the first one: not only the player has to plan every move, he also has to synchronize everything.”

“A point and click adventure featuring a creature named Pip, who is incarnated in a surreal world as a funny but brutal worm. Pip is naive and doesn’t know anything about this reality. Talking with a flower or a stone for him is as natural as tasting another representative of local fauna. He examines this new world, overcoming obstacles to reach a new rebirth and trying to figure out who he is. At the same time he is learning the laws of karma and the relativity of good and evil.”

developed by Niklas Hallin  |  Platforms: Windows, Mac, Linux

[gfycat data_id="IllinformedMiserableIberianlynx"][gfycat data_id="NextZestyJabiru"][gfycat data_id="WelllitOblongFieldmouse"]

“Spacial puzzles, treasure hunts, combat and a world full of people. Play as a young elephant tasked to save a world he’s never seen before, and explore the delicate cultural and political situations in a world where humans, zombies and robots live side by side.”

I was tempted to replace all the text with “squeeee”.  I’ve managed to hold myself together.  x_x

This is just a mock up for a point-and-click adventure game.  The artist is actually working on another title, Paradigm, which you can check out here.

Having just watched the series I thought it was pretty great, there’s a ton of cool fan art floating around.

Djur

developed by Christofer LevallMax Nilsson, & Tim Lidåker  |  Platform: Windows

[gfycat data_id="MenacingLastJaguar"][gfycat data_id=""]

“A sci-fi fable game focusing on narrative and atmosphere. The game explores what it means to be human, and what it takes to transcend beyond our flaws.

“You manage a place of respite deep in the woods that have overtaken the previous infrastructure, as you go about your days encountering creatures and individuals seeking a moments rest from their pilgrimage. Through their stories, factual or mythical, you learn of the world and what has transpired before your time.”

This is still really early in development so no gameplay yet, but I really like the atmosphere in the released gif.  Short and sweet for Sunday ;)

The Polaroid

developed by dissonent  |  Platforms: Windows, Mac, Linux

[gfycat data_id="LateMenacingBasenji"][gfycat data_id=""]

“A puzzle game that connects the past and present through a supernatural take on the polaroid-within-a-polaroid fad.

“Inside a mysterious room with no door, you seek a way to get out. A set of polaroid photos on the wall hint at the story of this room’s past. With only an old polaroid camera in hand, you must solve the puzzle of each photo by matching them to the scene.”
