“A space combat & trading game where you must climb to the top of the economic food chain and earn one billion dino-dollars by any means necessary: mining, scavenging, bounty hunting… even a life of piracy if you’re vicious enough.”
A sci-fi roguelike with both ASCII and pixel art. Play as the Cogmind and explore an expansive living world (inhabitants have their own routines and reactions to your presence), building yourself up through parts you find and those taken from robots that you destroy. There are various ways to play other than all out destruction (such as hacking and stealth), depending on what parts you discover and decisions you make.
“Immersive first-person parkour in a surreal, physics-driven voxel world.
Lemma enables creative building through movement. Spawn structures just by moving through space. Extend platforms, smash through walls, and build new ones, all through parkour moves.”
The game came out on Steam last week, but was actually in the batch of ten games that I posted on the first day of this blog’s existence, which was about 6 months ago. You can see it here, though I feel a bit embarrassed to bring it up. I still hate writing, but maybe a bit less than I did back then. Feels like forever ago. >.<
An action and puzzle adventure game inspired by Japanese folkore and origami. Switch between two dimensions in order to solve puzzles and overcome obstacles. One dimension is focused on puzzle solving and stealth, while the other is more action oriented. Actions in one world influence the other.
“Think of it as a trippy whack-a-mole reimagined for touch devices.“
Manipulate and turn the ball while touching the right spots which correspond to the colours at the top. The goal is to finish as fast as you can so as to earn more points, and then challenge yourself on a harder level.
“A 2D platforming action adventure game featuring multiple characters, each with unique abilities, using their skills to fight an evil invading force all across the multiverse. Players will travel through the game recruiting and unlocking characters to help tackle the increasingly challenging worlds and unique bosses that lie within.”
“An adventure RPG, driven by the story of a little girl whose family has gone missing at a ship breaking yard. Based on real events, Unraveled takes you through a child’s imagination as she seeks out her parents.”
“On the little girl’s journey, her plush doll comes to life as a monstrously cute creature that aids her on her quest! However, as she traverses through the ship, the rotting environment takes its toll on the doll and he slowly starts unraveling…”
The game is heavily influenced by “The Wire Nest”, a documentary about the extremely poor living and working conditions of the people in the ship breaking yards in Mumbai, India. There’s a small collection of videos and info on the living conditions here, if you’re interested in learning more.
A 2D crazy platformer shooter…thing. Not really my kind of thing, but was waaaaay too over the top not to share. I think I could stare at the cat super flame/rocket attack for hours. >.< Plus, it’s Caturday!
Most of the art is taken from OpenGameArt.Org, which is a really great resource if you’re a gamedev, definitely check it out. :)
This is from the Kickstarter trailer of Unraveled: Tale of the Shipbreaker’s Daughter, a pixel art adventure RPG. The in-game art is a bit different (like Secret of Mana). I’ll most likely be doing a full post this weekend. Stay tuned!
