An action platformer set in space. You control a pirate searching various procedurally generated spaceships for treasure using a chain hook, plasma gun, and slow motion abilities. Not too much info on it yet, but so far the movement and combat look really smooth.
A colourful puzzle platformer which released this week. Your character can change into different geometric shapes in order to defeat specific enemies, or to solve puzzles.
“The Flat Kingdom is a beautiful and peaceful 2D land, but now it’s threatened by an evil thief and becoming 3D! The only one able to stop the chaos is Flat, a little hero able to change into a circle, triangle or square in order to solve puzzles, overcome obstacles and defeat giant bosses!”
A pixel art horror adventure taking influences from classics like Silent Hill and Zelda.
“Join Hans in a fantasy world and experience a unique adventure, full of surprises and challenges. Get hooked on an immersive tale, where every decision counts and every clue is a piece to solve the puzzle and get the treasure. Unravel the sordid secrets of the castle, meet colorful characters, and remember: horror always lurks beneath the surface.”
“An intense, local multiplayer shooter where you battle with tanks. Compete with friends and destroy each other in a frenzy of bullets, lasers, and explosions in a variety of chaotic game modes. Go ballistic as destruction and mayhem will ensue not only in game, but outside of it as well.”
The developer wrote about the progress of the game over the last eight months, and you can see the improvement in the art and gameplay in the gif below (sorry it’s a bit low res).
“An intense strategy board game in a steampunk world of corrupt capitalist gremlins who compete for money, political power and prestige. Steal resources, extort bribes, manipulate elections, arrest other players and send them telegrams of misfortune…”
The developers also did a nice post mortem on the time the game spent in Early Access, as well as a breakdown of localizing the game into 12 different languages, and how each paid off (or didn’t). If you’re into game development, definitely a good read.
“A bullet hell dungeon crawler following a band of misfits seeking to shoot, loot, dodge roll and table-flip their way to personal absolution by reaching the legendary Gungeon’s ultimate treasure: the gun that can kill the past.
“Select a hero [or team up in co-op] and battle your way to the bottom of the Gungeon by surviving a challenging and evolving series of floors filled with the dangerously adorable Gundead and fearsome Gungeon bosses armed to the teeth. Gather precious loot, discover hidden secrets, and chat with opportunistic merchants and shopkeepers to purchase powerful items to gain an edge.”
Saw some of the let’s plays before release and it looked pretty good. A bit slow to start off but some of the guns you can pick up look so damn cool. Like the one that shoots sharks :O
“The lovechild of Syndicate and GTA 1. Set in a future Tokyo, the game will see you become an assassin and uncover a dark conspiracy that will affect everyone. With open-world single player and competitive multiplayer, you will buy and use a host of weapons and tools to approach the many challenges of this beautiful little world.
“Also, cats…”
The trailer is quite well done, and the music is great too.
“A puzzle platformer game where you use lights to scare away shadow creatures that transform into everyday objects that you can use to your own advantage.”
“In The Shadows is a story about a man who dives back into a childhood fantasy world, to remember his past, to make sense of his life. A deep emotional journey about confronting your fears.”
A turn based strategy mixed with a bunch of RPG mechanics. This is one of my favourite games from the PS3, absolutely loved the story. If you’re into strategy games I would definitely check it out when it releases.
I was planning to put this up April 1st, just because it seemed like a good day to do whatever, but then I came across that other silly game (NSFW) and thought that was a much better idea. So no indie games today, tragic. :(
Back to the regular stuff tomorrow! Unless another whimsy unicorn possesses me. Unlikely, I think.
So today is a special day, I figured I would do something a little off track. I’m not sure how to handle NSFW content exactly with how the site is designed. In any case, nothing extreme, just cartoon penises incoming. The style is similar to LocoRoco (image below). If you want to yell at me you can do so in the comments. :)
