Ruiner

being developed by Reikon Games

[gfycat data_id="ReadyWhimsicalFlyingfox"][gfycat data_id="KnobbyCautiousGosling"]

A top down cyberpunk shooter, currently in early development.

There isn’t too much gameplay to show (you can see a short clip here), but I really wanted to share the changing face animation at some point, and I’m doing some housecleaning in my queue this week.  :)  You can see some concept art below.

“An action adventure game with you taking the role of Max, a teenager with a jetpack. It all starts with your brother’s request for an action packed birthday. Unfortunately he’s in the hospital so it’s up to you to bring him an unforgettable home movie.”

Travel around the world fighting various robotic bosses that you create (randomly) in the Make-A-Boss generator.  Tougher bosses are worth more bounty to defeat, you can then use the money to upgrade your character or purchase fancy hats with specialized powers (one can never have too many hats).

Try and bring home the most over-the-top video for your brother.

Currently in development for PC with a release date on Steam later this year (and possibly Mac & Linux afterwards).

A JRPG in the vein of Final Fantasy Tactic and Tactics Ogre, but instead of controlling individual characters in battle, you control squads of heroes on a much larger battlefield.

Still in early development for PC, and will include the assets and code required for people to create their own campaigns using UDK.

“A game of logic, and cats. Cats riding around on trains.

“Let me explain.

“As we are all aware, the stability of planet earth’s orbit around the sun is maintained by an enormous and very secret underground machine. A machine where cats of various colours ride around on trains, as cats have done since time immemorial.

“Without this secret mechanism, the earth would undoubtedly fold in on itself, probably with a rather satisfying popping noise, but also with the unpleasant side-effect of then ceasing to exist.

“The Cat Machine places you in charge of designing that contraption.”

JRPG being built in Unreal 4.  It’s only been in development for a couple of weeks, and is using 100% blueprints.  I’m not sure it’ll turn into an actual fully fledged game, but I thought it was really interesting to see what can be done in Unreal 4 in such a short space of time, which bodes well for people looking to prototype quickly.

A very retro RPG adventure game.  Travel to three different continents in your ship, M.S. Tradewind, and explore various areas in a 2D sidescrolling view.

Still in very early development for PC.

“You are Jacob Solomon: leader of a group of survivors holed-up in a remote church.  Your story begins when a mysterious radio transmission is intercepted.

“In 30 days, help is coming.”

Bunker Punks

An FPS and roguelike hybrid with multiple playable characters which each have their own play style.  Upgrade both your character and your bunker.  You can take a look at the really cool trailer here.

“It’s inspired by combining the classic run-and-gun gameplay of classic FPS’s, with the random level generation, RPG elements and permadeath of roguelike games.  On top of it all is a revolution/bunker survival sim, where you manage resources and upgrade your bunker to grow the Bunker Punks movement.”

Bunker Punks Fan Art

created by Eric Proton

[gfycat data_id="SpotlessFirsthandGodwit"]

“Picture a procedurally-generated roguelike FPS where between raiding corporate bunkers you build an underground base full of pirate radio zinester revolutionaries intent on taking down the Man.

“This here is Molly Pop, the pistol-wielding leader of the Zero Sum Gang, raising a revolutionary flag in the wreckage of a Fero Psychodynamics bunker.“

Eric Proton

I wasn’t sure if today would be super quiet due to independence in the U.S. (it’s my first time, and most of my traffic is from there), so instead of potentially throwing a game up for no one to see I thought I’d just put up a little fan art from one.  Turns out it’s kind of fitting.

I’ll make a post about Bunker Punks tomorrow, but here’s one screenshot if anyone’s out there. =)

Also, happy independence day to anyone celebrating!
