“A seafaring strategy game set in the golden age of American whaling. Explore the seven seas, manage your ship and crew, hunt whales and immerse in a living world, dealing with hundreds of unique events. Unveil Ishmael’s destiny and chase MobyDick to dissolve Ahab’s curse.”
Currently in development for PC, with a planned release at the end of 2015.
“A two-dimensional cooperative adventure game with emphasis on traversal, discovery and companionship. Explore, solve puzzles and unravel a mystery together. Whether you decide to play Yonder by yourself or cooperatively, the adventure will revolve around interactions between the characters of the game and their surroundings.”
Apologies for the gif quality. The footage available mostly includes the awesome lighting, which makes getting a 256 colour gif at the correct size (that looks good) really difficult. Dreaming of the day when Tumblr supports HTML5 “gifs”.
A Gameboy inspired 2D platformer. Play as Mr. Tako, an octopus caught in the middle of a war with the humans. You can wear different hats which give you various power ups (like shooting kittens!!). You can also change the colour palette of the screen.
“A satellite launching simulator with a retro-puzzle style. Launch your satellite into orbit and go head to head with the dominant force that formed the entire universe: Gravity.”
“An action platformer game set in a post-apocalyptic fantasy world. Following the adventures of our protagonist Sterk, you will survive a long way through unfriendly deserts, find secrets of abandoned cities and visit uninhabited, but flourishing parts of the Creach.”
Still in early development being made in Unreal 4 for PC.
“A fun, fast paced, beat ‘em up style arcade game designed for two players on one keyboard. Steal each others eggs to win!”

“I’m hoping to bring back the fun, competitive local multiplayer experience you may of had as a kid, with accessible controls which don’t require investing in multiple gamepads.”
“A minimalist commentary on the dangers of overseas deployment. It’s designed as an approachable game to raise awareness of the unpredictable tragedies that IEDs (Improvised Explosive Device) can deliver.
The game puts you in the boots of a soldier stationed overseas. Follow your compass through a randomly generated minefield of IEDs to return to camp.”
“A 2D point-and-click adventure game. The characters and backgrounds are painted in watercolor and hand-animated on paper.”
“Mizuka, a little Japanese girl, lives on a small remote island, in the Okinawa archipelago. One night, she has a strange dream. When she wakes up, a terrible danger is threatening the island. Mizuka must explore the surroundings and enter a mysterious spirit world in order to save her village.”
Still in early development. There’s a lot of really great art on the developer’s Tumblr which you can follow here (atelier-sento).
A wave based low poly shooter. You’re a space invader that has landed on a planet and you must try and breach its defenses. You can play it for free on Kongregate or Newgrounds.
A top down shooter with rogue like and RPG elements. Control a cybernetically soldier and clear out a procedurally generated robot infested facility. After death you can purchase new weapons to take with you on the next run.
A hand animated action adventure game being developed for PC, Mac, Linux, and Wii U (and possible more). I’m so in love with the art, and I’m definitely a little biased with this post as I backed the game on Kickstarter last year.
“As the enigmatic Hollow Knight, players will journey through the depths of Hallownest, a vast and ancient kingdom buried deep underground. Though long fallen to ruin after a dimly-remembered catastrophe, explorers and thieves still brave its dark roads, its caverns and towers, searching for riches and wonders.
“Lately though, something has changed. Villagers and explorers venturing into the caverns have stopped returning. The caverns throb and tremble with a savage energy. A sweet and sickly poison is drifting through the hollows, sending creatures mad with rage and robbing explorers of their memories.”
Awesome Totoro/Hollow Knight fan art by Super Sini.
