Sunday is great for discovering new music. This is a collection of tracks by Chris Hurn, which he is giving up freely for use in non commercial projects. You can listen to the full list of 39 tracks here. If you’re interested and would like to use the music for one of your games/videos etc., give him a buzz @chris_hurn. He’s also available for contract work. :)
EDIT: just the first song is embedded, click here for the rest.
Even the Ocean by Sean Hogan & Jonathan Kittaka – a 2d adventure platformer where the enemies don’t necessarily kill you, but change your energy level which affects the physics of the gameplay. Your run speed and jump height are inversely proportional, and increasing one decreases the other.
Salt by Lavaboots Studio – an open world RPG exploration game. Gather resources, explore different islands, and upgrade your ship. It’s in early access now, but with a lot of positive feedback. :)
Amber Throne – a turn based RPG with a painted art style. Control Arra as she tries to finish her father’s work by destroying the Amber Throne. The developer only has a twitter account, nag them to make a proper website please. :)
Crossing the Line by Zomboko Entertainment – an absolutely stunning first person thriller where you must investigate the unsolved case of the death of your wife. Sounds a bit cliche on the surface, though you are able to interact with the shadow world (wraiths, souls etc.), which could add a twist to the story.
GIF’s really struggle to capture the game (and colours) in motion, the visuals in the trailer are tip top, though let’s hope the voice acting is placeholder.

A look back at Screenshot Daily in 2014.
Well, it was a really short year for the blog, but I thought there was some really cool stuff that people may have missed when it first launched. So here’s a showcase of some of my favourites, and some of the highest note favourites too, with links to the original post (click on game name). :)
Northern Shadow by Arda Güneş & Taner Tezel – A first person city building RPG with lovely environments. This image was voted as GameDev.net’s twitter image of the day.
VA-11 HALL-A by Sukeban Games – a quirky visual novel-esque bartending game. I really fell in love with the concept art, and the peculiar characters.
Vektor Prix by David Joslin – a fast paced top down combat racing game. I can’t say I’ve ever tired of looking at gifs of this. It’s also now on Greenlight, vote if you like!
CrossCode by Radical Fish Games – a SNES styled action RPG. I think my attraction to anime style visuals is starting to show through. >.< No more!
Chester United by Brilliant Blue-G – a sequel to Chester, where changing the art style changes the gameplay. Perfectly looping gifs are my kryptonite.
Guild of Dungeoneering by Gambrinous – instead of exploring a dungeon as an explorer, build a dungeon around your explorer and try to help him survive.
Relativity by Willy Chyr – an Escher-like puzzle game where up can be down, but it always looks good. This image was also voted as GameDev.net’s image of the day.
Twin Souls: The Path of Shadows by Lince Works – a 3D stealth game where you are a spirit of vengeance with power over the shadows. You think darkness is your ally?
Thanks to all the people making awesome games for me to post about, as well as everyone who has liked or reblogged. You guys are awesome and keep me motivated. If you have any suggestions for me to improve things for the next year or if want to yell at me, feel free to message me here, email me (top right button on website), or tweet @screenshotdaily. Happy New Year!
Why Am I Dead At Sea by Peltast Design – “A murder mystery where you are the victim. Possess other people and use their personas to investigate your untimely demise.”
Thought that was the perfect description that didn’t need any addition of my lame humour. Rejoice!
Steel Assault by Sri Kankanahalli & Daniel Garcia – a NES-styled 2d action platformer where you play as a resistance fighter trying to overthrow a ruthless government. Nothing gets me more excited than disco lights.
