Ikenfell

developed by ChevyRay  & Hunter Russell, music by aivi & surasshu  |  Platforms: Windows, Mac

“A JRPG with a mix of turn-based and timing-based battle mechanics with a heavy focus on characters and story.”

“Ikenfell is a game about witches, wizards, the school they attend, & the trouble they get into. It is also a game about love, friendships, rivalries, mischief…& kissing. The kissing may or may not happen between any of the former.”

“A colorful 3D Japanese Style RPG set in the 1990s, about eight strangers, a mysterious woman who vanishes in an elevator, and weaponized Panda plushies.”

“On the afternoon of April 4th 1999 Sammy Pak went missing. That night, a video of her last known moments was uploaded online. All of your friends excitedly watched as she is pulled from an elevator by something…. otherworldly. This is a story about what happens when you look for someone who can’t be found… and the strange things you invite into your life when you go to forbidden places.”

“A real-time tactical Japanese-style RPG. Inspired by timeless classics such as Ogre Battle, Final Fantasy VI, and Final Fantasy Tactics, Chronicle of Ruin’s ultimate goal is to both pay homage to these all-time greats and push their formulas forward in new and interesting ways.”

“In Chronicle of Ruin, vigilance is the distant memory of a world unknowingly on the brink of the end. Centuries of chaos and strife have hastened it to this decisive moment, wherein one final push against its cracked foundation will send it all plummeting into the abyss.”

“An RPG inspired by the classic console greats, featuring deep dungeon diving, turn-based combat presented in a classic JRPG format, and tons of secrets, story and randomly-generated replay goodness.”

Currently in development and on Kickstarter for PC, Mac, Xbox One, and PS4.  The game is based on the comic series “Battle Chasers”, and is also being created by Joe Madureira.  I really love the animation in the storied cutscenes. O.O

A JRPG in the vein of Final Fantasy Tactic and Tactics Ogre, but instead of controlling individual characters in battle, you control squads of heroes on a much larger battlefield.

Still in early development for PC, and will include the assets and code required for people to create their own campaigns using UDK.

JRPG being built in Unreal 4.  It’s only been in development for a couple of weeks, and is using 100% blueprints.  I’m not sure it’ll turn into an actual fully fledged game, but I thought it was really interesting to see what can be done in Unreal 4 in such a short space of time, which bodes well for people looking to prototype quickly.
