Some low poly art style indie games that have caught my eye :-)

reky

“A logic puzzle game, reky marries an elegance of design with an architectural minimalist aesthetic to create an experience that is fresh, stylish and satisfyingly challenging.  The player interacts with the different puzzle elements of each level, shifting and moving them in order to create a path to the goal.  Everything in the game is simple and functional, with only cubes, lines, exits, portals and a dash of colour used to create a large variety of brain-teasing challenges.”

The Red Lantern

“A narrative, survival game where you and your team of 5 sled dogs, lost in the wilderness, must navigate the ever-changing events of the Alaskan bush to find your way home. Choose how you want to interact with the world, do you tackle it head on hunting everything that moves, or do you take a more cautious approach?”

Frick, Inc.

“You’ll drive various trucks using on-screen control panels. Each truck has a different control method and it’s all made to be “Frick, Inc.” frustrating until you master it.

“You’ll be switching between trucks (and control methods) in 30 levels to perform various tasks. Each of the levels contains an extra challenge, only for those daring enough to go the extra mile. Ready to get into game development? Use the included 3D models to create your own game inspired by Frick, Inc.”

Going Under

“A satirical dungeon crawler about exploring the cursed ruins of failed tech startups. As an unpaid intern in the dystopian city of Neo-Cascadia, you’ll wield office junk as weaponry as you make your way through the offbeat procedural dungeons beneath your company campus.

“Failed businesses no longer just cease to exist–they sink beneath the earth, and their employees are cursed to wander the halls for eternity as monsters. It’s your duty to put these monsters out of their misery and repossess their assets–so that your boss can afford a new car, or something.”

The Last Campfire

“Become lost within a storybook world, travelling through beautiful environments, meeting strange and unusual characters in a heartfelt story.  You play as Ember.  You are trapped in a puzzling place, searching for meaning and a way home.  At its heart, it is the story of rekindling hope in an otherwise hopeless world.”

This looks hauntingly beautiful and it was quite a surprise to discover that it’s releasing today. 🥰 I really hope it turns out as good as it seems as a touching puzzle game is right up my alley. There is also an explore mode where you can just wander around the world talking to the characters at your own pace.

The music in the trailer is from LAMB and it is called As Satellites Go By.

The game features a full length campaign, a competitive battle mode, a host of unlockable content, and an educational mode for parents and teachers to practice spelling with their children. The game world is inspired by 1920’s newspaper printing factories but will take players on a larger journey through a world that features trains, skyscrapers, zeppelins, hover cars and more.”

Kill It With Fire

“A first-person action game about hunting spiders and causing collateral damage.  Gather your arsenal and pursue the eight-legged menace on a journey across time, space, and suburbia – although not necessarily in that order.

“Use state-of-the-art arachnid tracking technology to pinpoint your quarry’s location among hundreds of potential hiding spots – then, torch everything and smash the spider with a frying pan after it runs out.  It’s the only way to be sure.” 🕷️
