The Girl of Glass

“Join Kristal as she sets out on her journey to better understand herself and the world around her in a point and click adventure game, featuring turn-based combat elements and hand-painted environments.

“The Girl of Glass is set in a fictional mid-20th-century European country ruled by a tyrant eagle.  You play as Kristal, the girl of glass, who is struggling with growing up, letting go of the past, and finding a future to believe in.  On your journey of discovery, you will visit numerous places and meet a wonderful cast of characters to interact with – all in very detailed, hand-painted graphics.”

Recompile

“Combining traditional Metroidvania mechanics with a dynamic narrative system, Recompile challenges players to explore, fight, hack and survive. Discover the many secrets beneath the ancient digital landscape, and prepare for system-wide reconfiguration.

“The game’s entire narrative takes place within 1 second of real time.

“Recompile is a game about choices and consequences.  Life and death.  Chaos and determinism.  Sentience and sapience.  Intelligence exists in many forms. In this dying world, one must explore all possibilities.  Observe and respect all perspectives.  Only then, can we truly survive.”

Townscaper

“Build quaint island towns with curvy streets.  Build small hamlets, soaring cathedrals, canal networks, or sky cities on stilts.  Block by block.  No goal.  No real gameplay.  Just plenty of building and plenty of beauty.  That’s it.

“Townscaper is an experimental passion project.  More of a toy than a game.  Pick colors from the palette, plop down colored blocks of house on the irregular grid, and watch Townscaper’s underlying algorithm automatically turn those blocks into cute little houses, arches, stairways, bridges and lush backyards, depending on their configuration.”

I received a Steam key from the developer and although purely creative things aren’t my jam it is really easy to build something that looks beautiful.  With the right imagination you can definitely put together quite a spectacular town, or you can be like me and see just how high buildings go. 🙈

I would love this to be fully fleshed out and rolled into something with more traditional gameplay, which miiiight be a possibility in the future? :)

No Place for Bravery

“A 2D top-down action RPG which weaves together high-quality visuals, a stirring soundtrack and intense combat moments into a deep and affecting tale of moral dilemmas and personal reflection of choices.  YOUR choices.  Making mistakes will be punishing and you’ll experience a lingering sense of fragility while facing the dangers of Bravery’s world.

“Thorn, a retired warrior plagued by nightmares, stumbles on an opportunity for redemption after finding clues to his daughter’s disappearance from long ago.  With the company of his disabled foster son, Phid, it will be up to the player to decide how far Thorn will go, not only to rescue his daughter but also to fulfill his ambitions.

“The story of Bravery carries a strong message on the role of parental figures and the consequences of their choices in a troubled world.  This message is informed by the developers’ personal life experiences, and the game aims to impart these real, resonant feelings with competence and depth.”
