Some of the best pixel art indie games that I have curated or ones that just hit you right in the nostalgia with their retro feel.

Firekeeper

Protect the fire from encroaching darkness by gathering sticks to feed the flame and picking up crystals to make both you and the fire stronger.  Battle the oncoming shadows by lighting the surroundings on fire and hold out long enough for your bonfire to ascend.  Made for Ludum Dare 46 over a weekend.

Megacopter: Blades of the Goddess

“Pilot the Megacopter, a sentient weapon that gains power by feeding on the blood of its enemies.

“Play a variety of mission types. Seek and destroy missions feature an escalating threat level as you penetrate enemy lines.  Rescue missions allow you to save your comrades (choplifter style).  Defense missions feature waves of enemies.  Boss hunt missions feature a powerful enemy.”

The OST is really good and is done by OGRE, you can check them over on Bandcamp.  The track in the video is S.C.U.D.

ITTA

“A bullet-hell adventure set in a world filled with monstrous bosses. When Itta wakes up and finds herself surrounded by her dead family, her only guide is a strange spirit that takes the form of the family cat who gifts her a glowing revolver for protection.

“Players must seek out the powerful beings locked away beneath this seemingly peaceful world and go toe-to-toe against them in harrowing battles.  From hulking ancient golems to toothy horrors, Itta’s journey will push both you and her past their limits.”

“ITTA is a game inspired by themes of personal struggle.  If there is light, there must be darkness.  The important thing is to keep going… no matter what you endure along the way.

The Last Night

“The soul of a cinematic platformer with the heart of a sci-fi thriller, The Last Night is set in a post-cyberpunk world with a deep, vibrant vision of the future.

“Humans first knew the era of survival.  Then they knew the era of work.  Now they live in the era of leisure.  Machines have surpassed human labour not only in strength, but in precision, intellect, and creativity.  The fight for survival doesn’t mean food and water, but a purpose for living.  People now define themselves by what they consume, not what they create.”

I’ve had a bit more time on my hands recently so I decided to edit the trailer because I really liked the music by Lorn but there was only a small snippet of it in the original.  I also tried to make it into a kind of continuous looping story.  Apologies for the stutter at the end but that is up to gfycat, just imagine it being really smooth!   I used footage from the original trailer and the gameplay video.

Check my Instagram/Twitter later tonight for a little bonus edit. :)

Seinfeld Adventure

A point-and-click adventure that would like to be made but is waiting on approval from the creators of Seinfeld.  The developers are hoping with enough internet attention it will help their case to make a roughly 30 minute game with a new story that captures the essence of the TV show.

You can see the original trailer and their pitch on the website below, I edited the video to add the Seinfeld theme music and to time it to the scenery. :)
