Armed with Wings: Rearmed

developed by Sun-Studios  |  Platform: Windows

[gfycat data_id="ConcernedAfraidDalmatian"][gfycat data_id="HeavenlyMajesticAnnelida"][gfycat data_id="VigilantDizzyHaddock"]

“A 2D action/puzzle platformer set in the dark and dilapidated world of Black Mist.”

“The Rebel Army is crushed, the war for freedom is lost and the Tyrant King Vandheer continues to rule with his cold, iron fist. However, the cries of the perished have not been ignored by the divine ones who seek to save the world from darkness. So by their hands, the strongest of the fallen is resurrected, wielding celestial power and a sacred title, Armed with Wings. “

Nothing says Happy Valentine’s Day quite like a black, white, and grey world with an undead protagonist fighting against the darkness.

“Ball has the unique ability to phase all red or blue Blocks out of existence. The Blocks are both the obstacles and tools you must use to solve a plethora of fiendish puzzles. Each Block will need to be cleverly manipulated or avoided in order for Ball to advance through the world.”

Super Happy Fun Block was originally an iOS game, but is being ported to PC with a number of improvements.  You can see what the iOS version looked like here.

“A simple, accessible twitch platformer with one small change: Your character can’t run. Play as an adorable little robot named Blitz, where your goal is to escape the factory you were built in.”

“Blitz can only jump, and perform an air dash in one of 4 directions. Upon colliding with an object that doesn’t break you, you are free to dash again. Use this to navigate a variety of challenges and hazards, including spikes, cannons, missiles, lasers, mines and even giant mechanical monsters.”

“A roguelite platformer that lets you explore a beautiful world of flying islands with randomly generated caves, monsters and treasures. Climb your way to the top while combining items for unique combat effects each run and enjoy the mix of retro aesthetics and modern effects.”

Path to the Sky just released on Steam Early Access today.  Dek has been active in the /r/gamedev community for a long time, and seeing the game grow from the first gif that I remember (of wavy grass/plants) has been pretty cool.  So, congrats. :)

Pode

developed by Henchman & Goon  |  Platforms: Unannounced

[gfycat data_id="KaleidoscopicLeftKob"]pode game 1 pode game 2

“A puzzle adventure about friendship and cooperation.  Join Bulder the rock and Stella the star on a wonderful journey through an ancient, lush underground world filled with riddles and mysteries.”

I usually wait until there’s a bit more gameplay to show before making a full post, but I just found Pode to be super charming.   It’s still very early in development and looks like a very promising co-op game (that can also be played by one person switching characters).  The development team previously made Flem, which you can check out below.

A 2D action platformer set in a world where the sign posts have come to life; it’s the sequel to Sign Motion which you can check out here.  Currently announced for Xbox One, and will possibly come to other platforms in the future.  Reminds me a lot of The Pedestrian which I covered before, as it also features alive signs (and has really cool transitions!).

PRiO

developed by Daniel Davis Games

[gfycat data_id="GloomyBronzeDragon"][gfycat data_id="GrizzledShockingClumber"][gfycat data_id="ThoseFloweryAmberpenshell"]

“A visually-striking, yet challenging platformer about manipulating the environment around you. To complete a stage, you must light up all the blocks in a level. The only problem is that not every block is active at the same time. You must toggle between Red, Yellow, and Blue blocks to navigate each course without getting shot by turrets, impaled on spikes, or falling to your death. It starts out easy, but the challenge will come quickly.”

A demo is available which includes the first 10 levels of the game.
