Light Fall

developed by Bishop Games.

A 2D adventure platformer with a “Shadow Core” mechanic where you can instantly summon a box to jump on, shield yourself, or use to solve puzzles.

“You will have to travel across this strange land in a quest to uncover your mysterious origins. Along the way, you will investigate the many regions of Numbra, face deadly challenges and meet outlandish characters, be it friends or foes.”

Blitz Breaker

developed by Boncho Games.

A one handed mobile platformer, also coming to PC.  Swipe to send yourself flying into walls, leaving behind a fabulous rainbow trail.  There really needs to be a Nyan Cat character.

“Play as a tiny robot named Blitz as he tries to escape a facility, where it seems everything is trying to break you. That is, except for a friendly computer program named Chip!“

Circa Infinity

developed by Kenny Sun.

A trippy platformer with a circular design.  I’ve been staring at my screen for a while trying to describe the game further, but I can’t. >.<  The second GIF is the intro level, which is probably the easiest to understand, and here is a gameplay video which should help.  Each level slowly introduces a new enemy or gameplay mechanic, which are then combined in later levels/sections creating insanity.

The demo came out on itch.io today and it’s quite fun when things start getting intense.  Though, it’s only the first 10 levels so I suppose it’s quite low on the game’s overall intensity meter.

Ultimate Chicken Horse

developed by

Clever Endeavour Games.

A party platformer for up to 4 cute animals players, where each has an input on how the level is designed.  Between each round players are given items to modify the layout of the level with barriers and traps.  Naturally, as more rounds pass the crazier the levels get.  Depending on the mode, players run through individually or all at once.  There’s also a single player puzzle mode.

Everything is much better explained in this video.

Rain World

developed by Videocult, published by [adult swim] games.

“A survival platformer set in an abandoned industrial environment ravaged by a shattered ecosystem.

Bone-crushingly intense rains pound the surface, making life as we know it almost impossible. The creatures in this world hibernate most of the time, but in the few brief dry periods they go out in search of food.

You are a nomadic slugcat, both predator and prey in this land. You must hunt enough food to survive another cycle of hibernation. Other bigger creatures have the same plan.”

Ghost Song

developed by Old Moon Games.

An actual (super?) metroidvania that’s been in development for a few years, and is hopefully coming out at the end of 2015.  While it definitely looks like a modern Super Metroid, the game is also supposed to borrow elements from Dark Souls.   No hand holding with the gameplay.  :)  The mix definitely gives it a great looking atmosphere.

Remnant

developed by Death, art by Raymond Schlitter, which make up Minerion Studios.

A 2D puzzle platformer in very early development.  You have the ability to shapeshift into various animals (a bird, a monkey, a bull, and a dog), which you’ll need to use in order to navigate the underground labyrinth.

I probably should have waited until this was further along, but that dog strut is too awesome not to share.  I’ll most likely post about it again when it’s closer to release, if it’s still looking good. ;)

Proto Raider

by Puzzle Lab.

An ASCII puzzle platformer.  Your energetic avatar auto runs through the level, and you must choose the correct path (by jumping/falling) in order to obtain various items that are necessary to survive the obstacles in your way, and reach the exit.  For example, if you don’t get Scuba gear before entering the water, or you don’t get an antidote for poison, you die.

Though, I must admit that dying doesn’t look too unpleasant for your character, as they seem to do ASCII versions of various popular dances. ;)

It’s already out on iOS and PC, and is currently going through Greenlight.  I really like the music in the Steam trailer.  There are 64 single screen levels, and you can read a full review on Touch Arcade.

Game Over (working title)

by Studio Blackflag.

An isometric puzzle platformer.  Explore a cute cubic world, solving puzzles and unlocking new areas.   The atmosphere reminds me a bit of Fez, peaceful exploration.

Created using Playmaker for Unity3D, which allows you to make games without writing any lines of code yourself (it’s all visual).

It’s still in development but you can play the latest build on their website, for now.  I’m sure the developers would appreciate any feedback, so feel free to leave a comment here or send them a tweet. :)
