An FPS and roguelike hybrid with multiple playable characters which each have their own play style.  Upgrade both your character and your bunker.  You can take a look at the really cool trailer here.

“It’s inspired by combining the classic run-and-gun gameplay of classic FPS’s, with the random level generation, RPG elements and permadeath of roguelike games.  On top of it all is a revolution/bunker survival sim, where you manage resources and upgrade your bunker to grow the Bunker Punks movement.”

“A 3D roguelike dungeon crawler, with real time action, where the player gets to explore infinite dungeons and hunt down deadly monsters.

“Each death is permanent, however the player will be able to reincarnate as one of the monsters or the other characters you’ll meet, discovering new combinations of skills and creatures.”

“A 2D platform game set in a procedurally generated world. Go wherever you want in a vast world which is different every time you play. Find and collect loot to customize and enhance your character. Trade with, threaten or fight survivors to get what you need.

Beat permadeath, by unlocking checkpoints and new features for future playthroughs. Uncover the many secrets this world has to offer and destroy a great evil within – alone, or with a friend.”

Still in very early development, but the art style already looks pretty great, and I’m excited about another co-op roguelike.

A roguelike hack and slash which is really really hard.  So far there are two areas and you can choose from six different characters.   If you like pain you can get the current version of the game from Game Jolt.

“Each level is randomly-generated so each playthrough is unique and will never be the same. As you enter, you must search and activate all the marks placed everywhere which will unlock your way out of the dungeon.”

Curious Expedition

developed by Maschinen-Mensch

curious expedition curious expedition 2 curious expedition 4 curious expedition 6

19th century roguelike exploration.  Select a group of unstable travellers…I mean intrepid explorers, and attempt to complete an expedition to find a golden pyramid before everyone goes insane, kills each other, or is killed by everything else.

It’s an HTML 5 game that you can play in your browser, but is also coming to Steam.  You can pay to get access to the alpha, and get the full game on release (similar to Steam early access).  It was actually free to play over the weekend, which I discovered on Monday.  Boo. :(

You can check out a nice let’s play by Brendan McLeod which gives a good look at how the game plays.
