“A chaotic twin-stick precision shoot-em-up packed full of gibs and grease for 1-4 players. Blast through procedurally generated Space Zoos to rescue exotic space animals in a chaotic bullet-hell shoot-em-up. Or reduce them to gibs. Your call, monster.”
Dr. Spacezoo released on Early Access yesterday. I first featured the game on Screenshot Daily way back in December 2014, which was the first month of me starting up the site, so it’s got a special little place in my heart. =) I’m definitely super biased, but please take a visit to the Steam Page below!
“A brutal action shooter set in the year 2091 in the cyber metropolis Rengkok. A wired sociopath lashes out against a corrupt system to uncover the truth and retrieve his kidnapped brother under the guidance of a secretive hacker friend. Combine preternatural reflexes, augmented tools, and the arsenal of fallen foes to tear down and dismantle the corporate titans of virtuality dealers at HEAVEN.”
“An 80s-arcade inspired co-op spaceship combat game with a unique twist; No shooting.
“Melee Spaceship is a hardcore game with the unique mechanic where you dash through enemies to attack and flip to recharge your dash. With only one dash attack available before you flip, the goal is to force gameplay mastery instead of the typical button spam of traditional SHMUPS.”
“The game flirts with the comedic horror genre and features fast paced action, tons of weapons to use and enemies to shoot. Along with your teammate, you are dropped into a city, that has been destroyed from the war, and are tasked with finding a mysterious package. But you’ll have to deal with the residents first, which include meat eating infected and paramilitary soldiers that play lets-fill-them-up-with-lead a lot.”
The team is now working on Warlads, a third person fighting game which explores Pirates vs. Ninjas, among other things. It’s still in early development, you can check it out on IndieDB.
“An intense, local multiplayer shooter where you battle with tanks. Compete with friends and destroy each other in a frenzy of bullets, lasers, and explosions in a variety of chaotic game modes. Go ballistic as destruction and mayhem will ensue not only in game, but outside of it as well.”
The developer wrote about the progress of the game over the last eight months, and you can see the improvement in the art and gameplay in the gif below (sorry it’s a bit low res).
“A bullet hell dungeon crawler following a band of misfits seeking to shoot, loot, dodge roll and table-flip their way to personal absolution by reaching the legendary Gungeon’s ultimate treasure: the gun that can kill the past.
“Select a hero [or team up in co-op] and battle your way to the bottom of the Gungeon by surviving a challenging and evolving series of floors filled with the dangerously adorable Gundead and fearsome Gungeon bosses armed to the teeth. Gather precious loot, discover hidden secrets, and chat with opportunistic merchants and shopkeepers to purchase powerful items to gain an edge.”
Saw some of the let’s plays before release and it looked pretty good. A bit slow to start off but some of the guns you can pick up look so damn cool. Like the one that shoots sharks :O
“The lovechild of Syndicate and GTA 1. Set in a future Tokyo, the game will see you become an assassin and uncover a dark conspiracy that will affect everyone. With open-world single player and competitive multiplayer, you will buy and use a host of weapons and tools to approach the many challenges of this beautiful little world.
“Also, cats…”
The trailer is quite well done, and the music is great too.
“A hyper fast, sci-fi action game that has its own twists on the twitchy shoot em up game genres.
“Nelo Lets you play as a race of aliens who are at war against their A.I. Creations, the Nightsithe. Your Character combats the Nightsithe using four floating mechanical hands that will let you wield four different guns at once, grab and throw enemies and physics objects, and can be used for ranged melee attacks. The gameplay and movement is very fast and chaotic, allowing the player to seamlessly switch between a third person mode and a top-down twinstick shooter mode.”
Being developed by just two people in Unreal Engine 4. Today is the last day for its Kickstarter, but it has surpassed its goal quite nicely. :)
“A 2D physics-based multiplayer shooter where players control one of various drone ships armed to the teeth, navigating around a circular planet level, dodging missiles and blasting their enemies to pieces and reveling on the glory of their defeat! At it’s core we want a straightforward multiplayer action game that’s easy to get into, but offers enough depth to keep players interested for a bit longer.”
