Was on a short break building a new PC

pc2

It was a long weekend here so I took a bit of a break from posting to put together a new PC (still have to mount the hard drives).  It’s quite the upgrade from my potato laptop so gif making should be a lot faster.   The case is old so I took it over to my Dad to be repainted because of the rust.

All the wires leading to the front corroded away, so he made a wire coming out of the back with a temporary makeshift power switch.  Of course, since I’m super lazy I’m probably not going to take it back over to get a proper one done.  >.<

It works!

Should be back to posting tomorrow, once nothing explodes.  =)

Shuyan

developed by Mark Media  |  Platforms: Windows, iOS

[gfycat data_id="RespectfulWideeyedBinturong"]shuyan game dragon2[gfycat data_id="OddballNastyBooby"]

“A 2-D and 3-D narrative action-adventure game set in ancient China. It tells a deep story about warring kingdoms and moral choices, and follows the story of Shuyan as she learns to take her place in the world. It aims to capture the ancient Chinese traditions of self-cultivation that are the essence of kung fu.”

“Shuyan’s combat system is divided between hard kung fu (force, hard strikes, etc), and soft kung fu (redirecting force, flowing around enemies, etc). On one side, it has a plenty of moves for those who want to take the path of hard kung fu, which plays similar to combat in the Batman games. On the other side, it has a challenging system of soft kung fu, which plays more on the ability of the player to focus and react.”

“A party-based RPG in which you lead a band of exiles to freedom through an ancient competition spread across a vast, mystical purgatory. Follow the stars as they guide you toward a series of celestial landmarks, then guide your fellow exiles to glory through action-packed, tactical confrontations against adversaries whose own freedom is at stake.”

This was announced a little bit before PAX, from the developers of Bastion and Transistor.  Of course, another beautiful art style.  The game itself seems like quite a departure from the previous ones, but I don’t mind.  :)

windowframe

developed by Daniel Linssen  |  Platform: Windows

[gfycat data_id="MealyDearestGosling"][gfycat data_id="TalkativeWeepyBlobfish"][gfycat data_id="CarefreeLikableDipper"]

A vampire hunting puzzle platformer where you can fire stakes into the sides of the game window, locking them into place or pulling them towards you, in order to overcome various obstacles.  This was made for Ludum Dare 35, the theme being shapeshift.

I apologize for the glitches (flashes) in the gifs.  My computer, the game, and the recording software just wouldn’t make peace.  Sorry. >.<

[Download on itch.io]

In certain parts of the expedition, the game window travels around the screen, which I thought was a neat little trick.  Playing over my twitter feed below. :)
