“An immersive First Person Experience (FPX) that tells the story of an astronaut in peril. Floating silently amongst the wreckage of a destroyed space station with no memory and a severely damaged EVA suit slowly leaking oxygen, the only survivor struggles to determine the cause of the catastrophic event that took the lives of everyone on board. The player fights to stay alive by exploring the wreckage for precious resources, and overcomes the challenges of an unforgiving environment to repair the damaged EEV and safely return home.”

Out on Steam today.  They’ve talked about entertaining the idea of including a mode where you can hang around in space and just chill.  That would be really cool, I’d looove to make some space cinemagraphs.

A post apocalyptic point and click adventure game about a woman searching for the cure to the deadly plague she’s been infected with.

“The world ended on the day the bombs fell. Since then, it’s always been like this: disease, hunger, death. The ruling Aristocrats — a faceless oligarchy that controls all resources — have unchallenged authority. There’s never enough food, water, or vaccine to go around. The rich receive regular doses of vaccinations in exchange for their unconditional government support. The poor live in fear, superstition, and squalor until they die.

“Amy Wellard, a young woman reluctantly working for the government to qualify for the vaccine lottery, believes there’s a cure — and she’s going to find it. Even if it costs her her life.”

Nelo

developed by Magic & Mirrors  |  Platform: Windows

[gfycat data_id="WindyPerfumedDegu"][gfycat data_id="FreeRealisticJunco"][gfycat data_id="ShorttermWellwornIvorygull"]

“A hyper fast, sci-fi action game that has its own twists on the twitchy shoot em up game genres.

“Nelo Lets you play as a race of aliens who are at war against their A.I. Creations, the Nightsithe. Your Character combats the Nightsithe using four floating mechanical hands that will let you wield four different guns at once, grab and throw enemies and physics objects, and can be used for ranged melee attacks. The gameplay and movement is very fast and chaotic, allowing the player to seamlessly switch between a third person mode and a top-down twinstick shooter mode.”

Being developed by just two people in Unreal Engine 4.  Today is the last day for its Kickstarter, but it has surpassed its goal quite nicely. :)

“Samorost 3 follows a curious space gnome who uses the powers of a magic flute to travel across the cosmos in search of its mysterious origins. Visit nine unique and alien worlds teeming with colorful challenges, creatures and surprises to discover, brought to life with beautiful artwork, sound and music.”

Really striking art.  I need to dust off and actually finish Machinarium! >.<

Gothic old school hack-and-slash, with an emphasis on death.  Releases today for PC and coming out for PS4, Vita, Wii U, and Xbox One within a few months.

“Bathoryn must battle his way through a doomed land packed with gruesome pixel art foes before ascending (or sometimes descending) each tower, defeating puzzles, traps and monsters alike. At the heart of each tower, he must confront a mighty overlord. Defeat it and Bathoryn’s quest continues. Fail, and you’ll die gruesomely – mauled by werewolves, disintegrated by floating monstrosities, squashed by great weights or torn apart by hidden blades.”

A minimalist local multiplayer game.  The gameplay looks really smooth so far, and the developers are still testing out new effects/challenges. It should be going up on Greenlight within a few months.

I only had to make the gif below, so it’s been a relaxing Sunday.  Enjoy!

Apparently it’s not Sunday, it was still a good day. :)

The art makes me weak in my knees.  A new trailer came out today and the release date was announced as March 31st for PC, with a console date to follow.  I did back this on Kickstarter, it’s been a long wait!  Looks worth it.

“Echoes of a dark and violent past resonate throughout a savage land, steeped in treasure and blood. Hyper Light Drifter is an action adventure RPG in the vein of the best 16bit classics, with modernized mechanics and designs on a much grander scale.

“Drifters of this world are the collectors of forgotten knowledge, lost technologies and broken histories. Our Drifter is haunted by an insatiable illness, traveling further into the lands of Buried Time, hoping to discover a way to quiet the vicious disease.”

“Fight your way free in our frenzied all-boss fighter, and discover what’s waiting behind the last gate. Furi is all about the tension of one-on-one fights against deadly adversaries. It’s an intense, ultra-responsive game with a unique mix of fast-paced sword fighting and dual-stick shooting.”

“Each of the formidable guardians —designed by Afro Samurai creator Takashi Okazaki— has a unique and surprising combat style that requires focus and skill to defeat.”

The soundtrack is composed by Carpenter Brut, and so far sounds great!  If you like synthwave, you can take a listen in the trailer below.

“A minimalist puzzle game with soothing piano music.

“The rules are simple: Match the color patches on the board and reach the exit, all on one single path. Every tile can only be touched once before it falls into nothingness. The game features 50 different levels and gets harder as you progress, always accompanying you with relaxing piano tunes.”

You can pick it up on Steam for $1.99 (or your regional equivalent).  There’s also a thread going on Reddit where you can pop the creator some questions about the development process.

Project Planet Shock (working title)

developed by BitByByte Creations  |  Platforms: Windows, Mac, & Linux

[gfycat data_id="SnivelingHopefulFeline"][gfycat data_id="ScholarlyBoringAkitainu"][gfycat data_id="ShadyQuerulousArmyant"]

“A 2D physics-based multiplayer shooter where players control one of various drone ships armed to the teeth, navigating around a circular planet level, dodging missiles and blasting their enemies to pieces and reveling on the glory of their defeat! At it’s core we want a straightforward multiplayer action game that’s easy to get into, but offers enough depth to keep players interested for a bit longer.”
