“A chaotic twin-stick precision shoot-em-up packed full of gibs and grease for 1-4 players. Blast through procedurally generated Space Zoos to rescue exotic space animals in a chaotic bullet-hell shoot-em-up. Or reduce them to gibs. Your call, monster.”

Dr. Spacezoo released on Early Access yesterday.  I first featured the game on Screenshot Daily way back in December 2014, which was the first month of me starting up the site, so it’s got a special little place in my heart. =)  I’m definitely super biased, but please take a visit to the Steam Page below!

“A 2D action/platformer which combines a refreshing art-style inspired by Hayao Miyazaki movies (Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke) with the old-school feeling from the Super Nintendo/Genesis era and the non-linear progression system from the Castlevania/Metroid series.

“The story takes place on Inao, a beautiful island where humans and spirits used to live in harmony with one another. But for an unknown reason, the usually peaceful spirits suddenly started to torment the inhabitants of the island creating an oppressive climate of fear.

“You play as Lynn, the young apprentice of the High Priestess of Inao, and begin a fantastic journey through the wildness of the island in order to find the cause of all this turmoil and save the inhabitants of the island.”

VirtuaVerse

developed by Theta Division Games, art by Valenberg  |  Platforms: Unannounced

[gfycat data_id="NastyDifficultHumpbackwhale"][gfycat data_id=""]

A cyberpunk point and click adventure game.  There really isn’t much info on this at all, but I love Valenberg’s pixel art so at the very least it should turn out to be pretty.  There’s a music track below which was a collaboration between Victor Love and Dynatron.

The website for the game doesn’t seem to be up and running yet, but you can follow Theta Division Games on twitter.

“A 2D puzzle game about travelling between colored and monochrome dimensions. There are 5 worlds in the game, each with its own dimension-switching mechanic that allows the player to explore “What if…?”

“Each puzzle has its own idea and is unique – there is no arbitrary filler content. Colored does everything it can to give a pure and interesting experience. “

A tactical turn based collectible card game.

“Select from a roster of 100+ battle units and spells, each with different stats and abilities that interact in unique ways during combat. No squad or battle will play out the same.

“The emphasis is on unit positioning, understanding your squad’s capabilities, anticipating your opponent, and maintaining board control. At it’s core, it’s a tactical tabletop board game without all the manual math calculations.”

Really love the additional art for Duelyst, there was way too much to put in one post so thought I’d add an extra one.  Unfortunately because I wasted so much time learned so much by fiddling with the Dawn of War gif I don’t have enough time to finish the full Duelyst post, that’ll be up tomorrow!

Bonus looping gif below that I stole from their website. =)

“A physics-based survival racing game where YOU are the bicycle. Learn to ride a bicycle in an artistic fashion! Grab some controllers and crash into ride with your friends!”

There should be three worlds and ten levels on release (in addition to ride through procedurally generated levels), as well as support for up to 4 players in a split screen mode (the gifs show 3 player split screen).

Shuyan

developed by Mark Media  |  Platforms: Windows, iOS

[gfycat data_id="RespectfulWideeyedBinturong"]shuyan game dragon2[gfycat data_id="OddballNastyBooby"]

“A 2-D and 3-D narrative action-adventure game set in ancient China. It tells a deep story about warring kingdoms and moral choices, and follows the story of Shuyan as she learns to take her place in the world. It aims to capture the ancient Chinese traditions of self-cultivation that are the essence of kung fu.”

“Shuyan’s combat system is divided between hard kung fu (force, hard strikes, etc), and soft kung fu (redirecting force, flowing around enemies, etc). On one side, it has a plenty of moves for those who want to take the path of hard kung fu, which plays similar to combat in the Batman games. On the other side, it has a challenging system of soft kung fu, which plays more on the ability of the player to focus and react.”
