The Town of Light

developed by Lka.it.

A psychological horror inspired by real events that took place in a psychiatric hospital in Italy, with stories based on testimony from the patients and employees who passed through there.

“I was sixteen, and I was scared. I was always scared. They told me that they would bring me to a place where the fear would fade away.  That is where I stopped living.  I’ve tried to explain what was happening to me.

I was tied to my bed for days and days, abandoned to my nightmares, silenced only by an injection.  My fear was no longer fear, it was madness, and when you are mad life as you know it ceases to exist.

Screams.  Desperation.  Loneliness.

Some women groaned, convinced they were giving birth…and they gave birth to the invisible children of the madness.”

Curious Expedition

developed by Maschinen-Mensch

19th century roguelike exploration.  Select a group of unstable travellers…I mean intrepid explorers, and attempt to complete an expedition to find a golden pyramid before everyone goes insane, kills each other, or is killed by everything else.

It’s an HTML 5 game that you can play in your browser, but is also coming to Steam.  You can pay to get access to the alpha, and get the full game on release (similar to Steam early access).  It was actually free to play over the weekend, which I discovered on Monday.  Boo. :(

You can check out a nice let’s play by Brendan McLeod which gives a good look at how the game plays.

A shmup and roguelike mashup set in space.  I tried to think of a further description, but what more do you need? ;)  Coming to Xbox One and PC.
