Survivor Squad: Gauntlets

developed by Endless Loop Studios.

A squad management action and strategy game.  You control your squad member’s line of sight, and whhen in the dark can only see in the cone where they are looking.  Work your way through various traps to get to the extraction zone while fighting off the infected.

There’s also a robust level editor that allows you to build your own scenarios and share them with the community.

Currently in Steam Early Access, with a bunch of positive reviews.

Proto Raider

by Puzzle Lab.

An ASCII puzzle platformer.  Your energetic avatar auto runs through the level, and you must choose the correct path (by jumping/falling) in order to obtain various items that are necessary to survive the obstacles in your way, and reach the exit.  For example, if you don’t get Scuba gear before entering the water, or you don’t get an antidote for poison, you die.

Though, I must admit that dying doesn’t look too unpleasant for your character, as they seem to do ASCII versions of various popular dances. ;)

It’s already out on iOS and PC, and is currently going through Greenlight.  I really like the music in the Steam trailer.  There are 64 single screen levels, and you can read a full review on Touch Arcade.

Game Over (working title)

by Studio Blackflag.

An isometric puzzle platformer.  Explore a cute cubic world, solving puzzles and unlocking new areas.   The atmosphere reminds me a bit of Fez, peaceful exploration.

Created using Playmaker for Unity3D, which allows you to make games without writing any lines of code yourself (it’s all visual).

It’s still in development but you can play the latest build on their website, for now.  I’m sure the developers would appreciate any feedback, so feel free to leave a comment here or send them a tweet. :)

Blood Alloy: Reborn

by Suppressive Fire Games.

An acrobatic 2D score attack shooter coming to all major platforms.  Blood Alloy in its final form is intended to be a full fledged Metroidvania, but for now the developers are focused on releasing a shooter with a smaller scope, which will hopefully be successful enough to support their bigger ideas.

Concept art drawn by Aaron Nakahara.

Age of Ascent

by Illyriad Games.

A massively multiplayer space shooter that you can play right from your browser with no download required (it uses Microsoft’s Azure servers).  The highest number of concurrent players so far is almost 1000, with a much higher potential ceiling.

Currently, every other Saturday you can play the PvP dogfighting aspect, check the website for the countdown timer to see when it opens.

It’s a bit difficult to record nice GIFs for games with realistic-ish graphics (that play nice with Tumblr), so take a peek at the trailer if you like.
